The Ukrainian Feminist Network has supported the “Girls Create” initiative in publishing the feminist poetry collection “Second Wreath.” The book brings together 50 women authors and 100 poems, highlighting diverse perspectives and voices of Ukrainian women.
Approximately 228 copies were distributed to libraries, as well as to cultural figures and civil society organizations. Priority was given to frontline, de-occupied, and rural communities where access to cultural initiatives remains limited.
The title of the project refers to the historic feminist almanac “First Wreath,” published by Nataliia Kobrynska and Olena Pchilka. Released in 1887, that anthology included essays, poetry, scholarly works, and other genres, marking it as an unprecedented milestone in Ukrainian literature, feminism, and women’s visibility in public discourse.
