Who we are

We are activists and representatives of womxn’s and feminist organizations and initiatives working to promote womxn’s rights, democracy, and sustainable peace in Ukraine. We are from different regions of Ukraine and have different life experiences, professions, and personal preferences, but we share common values.

Our vision

We strive for sustainable peace. We strive for inclusive societies based on democratic principles and gender equality, international feminist solidarity, and environmental awareness. We are critical of patriarchy, capitalism, (neo)colonialism, (neo)imperialism, and militarism. At the same time, we recognize that peace without freedom is worthless. We recognize the right to resist aggression. Therefore, we support the resistance of the people of Ukraine to the Russian invasion.

Transitional justice and the implementation of its four components: truth-seeking, prosecution, reparation, and implementing institutional reforms are critical to peace and post-conflict reconstruction. Thus, this Network is a platform for cooperation toward a more just and independent Ukrainian society.

Our values

  1. Freedom;
  2. Equality;
  3. The rule of law (in particular, the recognition of Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and integrity following the Constitution);
  4. Support for democratic values (freedom of speech, free media, personal dignity, freedom, and moral autonomy of every person);
  5. Solidarity;
  6. Inclusiveness;
  7. Intersectionality;
  8. Combating violence and discrimination, in particular, based on gender.

Our activities

  1. Networking, sharing knowledge, supporting each other, analysing common challenges and finding solutions;
  2. Funding feminist projects through subgrants to grassroots womxn’s initiatives or individual activists;
  3. Informing on the topic of war, its gendered experiences, and feminist activism in Ukraine and the world;
  4. Advocating and promoting the needs and vision of the Ukrainian feminist movement internationally.

Through these and other activities, we aim to create a network of contacts, resources, and mutual support between activists in Ukraine and abroad.

Our work format

Our focus remains on Ukraine and the consequences of the war for the population of Ukraine, both at home and abroad. The opportunity to be in different contexts gives us a better understanding of diverse experiences – activism and life in Ukraine during the war, being a refugee, international activism, and solidarity. It all strengthens our work.

Who funds us

Our work is supported by funding from the Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism as part of its program to support feminist and women’s organizations in Ukraine.
