Members and partners of the Ukrainian Feminist Network joined the Thematic Dialogue between Roma CSOs and the UN System in Ukraine, organized by the partner Roma women’s organization “Holos Romni.”

Zinaida Prokopenko, Dariia Chekalova, and Anastasiia Chebotariova took part in an important conversation on the real needs and challenges faced by Roma communities.

Angelika Bielova, Head of “Holos Romni,” together with Roma CSOs from across Ukraine, facilitated a productive discussion with UN representatives, including the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Matias Schmale. During the dialogue, Roma organizations presented the key challenges faced by the Roma national minority, as well as priorities and recommendations for the UN Country Team developed beforehand.

✔️ These priorities cover six key areas:

Strengthening organizational capacity, access to funding, and sustainability of Roma CSOs.

Access to and participation in humanitarian assistance.

Enhanced protection and social services to prevent gender-based violence and promote gender equality.

Inclusion and participation in recovery and reconstruction processes.

Access to social protection, healthcare, and medical services.

Access to education and the labor market / livelihood opportunities.

Behind each of these points stand real stories of survival, struggle, and pain in times of war.

We are grateful to contribute to this vital advocacy work aimed at defending the needs of the most vulnerable groups of women in Ukraine and supporting the implementation of meaningful change.
